Greg J. Friederichs, O.D.


Dr. Greg J. Friederichs is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and contact lens section of the AOA, sports vision section of the AOA and American Academy of Optometry-candidate, optometric clinical affiliate of Summit Technology and Minnesota Optometric Association, third party/insurance committee and co-editor-MOA EyeCare Benefits newsletter, and advisor to St. John’s University’s pre optometry program.

Dr. Friederichs is board certified by the International Associations of Board Examiners. He is certified in basic and clinical sciences of optometry as well as treatment and management of ocular disease. Dr. Friederichs holds research and advisory positions in many ophthalmic companies including Johnson & Johnson, Alcon, Polymer Technology, EyeSys Technology, Allergan, Menicon, Ciba Vision, Bausch & Lomb, Storz, and Cooper.

He has been published in the Journal of the American Academy of Optometry, EyeQuest magazine, the Journal American Academy of Optometry, the Journal British Contact Lens Association, Optometric Management, Review of Optometry, and Contact Lens Spectrum. Dr. Friederichs also lectures nationally on contact lenses, contact lens solution, eye diseases and practice management.

Giving back to the community is a priority for Dr. Friederichs. He is past president of the Paynesville Jaycees, past cub master of Paynesville’s Cub Scouts, member of the Paynesville Lions, Paynesville and St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce, and the Knights of Columbus. Dr. Friederichs is a member of the Minnesota chapter of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, and has lead eye care mission trips to South America. His awards include St. John’s University’s Senate Service Award, Beta Sigma Kappa Optometry honor student, and Minnesota Young OD 1995. Dr. Friederichs received his BS from St. John’s University and his doctorate of optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry in 1991. Dr. Friederichs and his wife, Ann, have three sons (Nathan, Zachary and Benet) and live in Paynesville.

Bennett W. Nelson, O.D.


Dr. Bennett W. Nelson has been a member of the American Optometric Association, Indiana Optometric Association, Northern Illinois Optometric Association, Loves Park Rotary, Knights of Columbus, the VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) organization, the Gift of Sight Foundation, and the Cub Scouts/Boy Scouts of America. Dr. Nelson has received many awards through his work with these organizations. He was awarded the Gift of Sight Spirit award for Sears Optical, the Cole Vision Award for Outstanding Customer Care in 2000, Luxottica Passion Ownership & Speed Award in 2004 and 2006, and he was named Doctor of the Year nominee in 2003. Dr. Nelson also received the Helen Keller Award from the Minnesota Lions Vision Foundation for his mission work and contribution to helping others.

Being involved and giving back to the community is very important to Dr. Nelson. In 2006, Dr. Nelson was a participant in the Relay for Life. He helped start the first Gift of Sight mission in Cincinnati in 2007 and has gone on several missions, domestic and international with the Gift of Sight Foundation. He traveled to Zacatecas, Mexico in 2005 with seven other doctors, and together they saw 25,648 patients in two weeks. In 2006, Dr. Nelson traveled to China and, again with seven doctors, saw 7,000 patients in four days. He’s also taken domestic trips to Chicago seeing 3,000 patients in one week. After being involved in the mission work, Dr. Nelson saw first-hand how the Lions Club offer support through volunteers and collected glasses, so he decided to become a member of the LeSauk Lions club in which he is a member of the board. Dr. Nelson is actively involved with church activities by helping with the youth group and being a member of the Faith Formation Board and Parish Council. Dr. Nelson is also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Being involved in scouting has been very important to Dr. Nelson. He has been an Adult Boy Scout leader for many years and has been the Committee Chair for Troop 21 for a couple years. Dr Nelson received his Wood Badge from the Boy Scouts of America after completing the advanced national leadership training. He also is a member of the Boy Scouts of America Order of the Arrow – Scouting’s National Honor Society.

Dr. Nelson received his BS in biology from Western Illinois University and completed his doctorate of optometry at the Indiana University School of Optometry in 1991. Dr. Nelson joined a private practice in Rockford after optometry school and seven years later, he joined the optical team of Sears as the lead OD where he practiced until his move to St. Cloud. Dr. Nelson specializes in contacts, pediatrics, and diagnosis and treatment of eye disease. He and his wife, Mona, have three children (Isaac, Marijana and Caleb).

Anna C. Malikowski, O.D.


Dr. Anna Malikowski has been a member of the American Optometric Association, the Minnesota Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Society. She is board certified by the International Association of Board Examiners as a licensed therapeutic optometrist. Dr. Malikowski has a passion for the profession of Optometry. Achieving crisp vision and maintaining sight throughout a lifetime are crucial. “I take my responsibility seriously and genuinely appreciate the relationships that are built along the way.”

Community involvement is meaningful to Dr. Malikowski. She sits on the Gathering of the Arts Board at St. Francis Xavier Church. She also has had the opportunity to volunteer at the Sartell Community Gardens. Students in high school, college and medical school have shadowed Dr. Malikowski. She has guided these students as they choose their career paths. Dr. Malikowski has also participated in career day for ISD 742 middle school students for a number of years. She also helped locally in the effort to package food sent to refugee camps in Africa.

Dr. Malikowski has a special connection to Ethiopia. She has contributed her time, talent and expertise to those in need in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In the future, she plans to return to Africa for mission trips to further aid people in extreme need.

Originally born in Alexandria, Minnesota, Dr. Malikowski was raised a portion of her life in Illinois. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of South Dakota and completed her Doctorate in Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in 2003. She received honors in her clinical rotations. She was pleased to move back to Minnesota when she married a gentleman from Sauk Rapids. She has worked mainly in private practice in Minnesota. When she is not in the clinic, she enjoys running, spending time with her family and traveling. Dr. Malikowski and her husband, Jason, have two kids (Abigail and Samuel).

Alexander W. Paradis, O.D.


Dr. Alexander W. Paradis is a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the Minnesota Optometric Association. He is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry as a licensed therapeutic optometrist with strong interests in dry eye and ocular allergies.

Dr. Paradis grew up in Bloomington, MN, and graduated Cum Laude from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2014 where he received his BS in biomedical science with a minor in chemistry. Actively involved at MNSU, Dr. Paradis was the president of the Pre-Optometry Club, member of Chemistry Club, and a four-year MCLA Division I Club Lacrosse player. He was awarded the UMLL 2nd Team All-Conference Midfielder award in 2012 and Exception Senior award in 2014.

In 2019, Dr. Paradis received his Doctorate of Optometry from Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) at Marshall B. Ketchum University. There, Dr. Paradis was an active member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society for three years and Student Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH) for four years, including serving as club president for two years. While completing his schooling, Dr. Paradis played as a goalkeeper in various local Southern California soccer organizations.

Dr. Paradis started volunteering and traveling at a young age and has carried the joy and passion of both into his optometric career. He found his true passion for optometry in the summer of 2013 while completing a 40-day optometric internship through the nonprofit organization, Unite for Sight, receiving a Certificate in Global Health and Program Delivery. Since then, he has completed four other optometric service trips to a number of under privileged communities in Mexico.

Outside of practice, Dr. Paradis finds true peace outdoors. He takes regular trips to the Boundary Waters, fishing, backpacking and practicing survival skills. He enjoys watching all sports, traveling and dives deep into all forms of health and nutrition.

Matt Anderson, O.D.

Matt Anderson, O.D.

Dr. Matt Anderson received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bethel University. In 2020, he graduated from Indiana University with his Doctorate in Optometry.

Dr. Anderson understands that vision is an integral part of his patients’ lives. His passion for optometry comes from having the honor of helping his patients achieve their best vision possible. He enjoys meeting with each patient to develop unique eye health and vision plans.

The certifications are at a national level and provides our staff the education they need to perform their job at the highest level. You can trust you will be well taken care of by competent professionals.


Our certified (ABO-American Board of Opticians) opticians are available to help you with all of your eye wear needs. The opticians will assist you in choosing the best quality frames and lenses to make sure you are seeing and looking your best. Whether you need an update on your everyday glasses or want to find out more about computer or sunglasses, we will be able to assist you. The opticians also adjust and repair eye wear.


Our team of certified contact lens technicians (NCLE-National Contact Lens Examiners) work with patients when they come for their appointment. We believe in continually educating our staff so they are up to date on new products and technology to provide our patients with the best care and treatments. The technicians are the support staff for the doctors. This knowledgeable group performs all ancillary testing our doctors need to treat patients.


Our Patient Care Coordinators are the first and last people you see when coming to us. You will be greeted by a friendly smile from one of our certified staff (CPO-Certified Para-Optometric). They are ready to help you check in for your appointment, schedule an appointment, or answer any questions you may have. We have full time insurance staff that can help you with anything related to insurance or billing. We are here to help.
